Benzinger’s Clothing Closet

At Benzinger’s Clothing Care, we believe that every child deserves to feel comfortable and confident. That’s why we launched Benzinger’s Clothing Closet, a new community initiative focused on collecting, cleaning, and giving away children’s clothing, all at no cost. Thanks to the generosity of our neighbors, we’ve been able to build a growing collection of quality items, from everyday essentials to special pieces, all ready to find new homes with local families who need them. And it’s not just about giving, it’s also about sustainability. Every donation helps reduce textile waste and keeps clothing out of landfills and oceans. With the right care and attention, we’re able to restore pieces that might otherwise be discarded, giving them new life and new purpose.

Free Fridays at Benzinger’s

This summer, we introduced Free Fridays, held on the first Friday of each month in the parking lot of our Hamburg location. We set up a welcoming outdoor space where families can browse through freshly cleaned clothing and take what they need. No cost, no questions, just community care. The response has been heartwarming, and we’re so grateful for a successful first season!

Free Fridays are now closed for the winter months and will launch again next spring. Keep an eye on our website and our Facebook and Instagram pages for updates. We can’t wait to see everyone again next season!

Community Partnerships

We’re proud to partner with local consignment shops: Southtowns Kids Consignment, Best Dressed Kids by Mary LLC and Once Upon A Child Blasdell. These local businesses also share our mission of giving clothing a second life and serving families in need. Their support has helped expand the reach of our Clothing Closet and increase the number of people we can assist.

In the past, we also partnered with Duck Duck Goose Childcare, who played a vital role in helping us gather donations and connect with local families. Community support like this fuels our efforts and reminds us that great things happen when we come together. We are incredibly grateful for all of the support.

How You Can Help

We are always accepting gently used children's clothing donations. If your kids have outgrown their clothes, bring them by! We'll take care of the cleaning,  all you have to do is drop them off. Whether you’re donating, spreading the word, or picking up clothes for your own family, you're helping make our community stronger, more connected, and more compassionate.
